23rd November 2024Review ratingImpressive tour. Most of the hotels top notch, most of the included attractions/activities definitely worth visiting. Tour leader, Mercedes, very friendly and knowledgeable. Jorge, our driver, definitely knows the roads and how to drive them. This tour lived up to my high expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone interested in the south of Spain. Highlights were Toledo and it's magnificent cathedral, all of Cordoba including our most wonderful hotel, the Alhambra in Granada, the Flamenco Show in Sevilla, the Portuguese hilltop village of Monsaraz and our castle stay in Estremoz. I did not take in the olive oil tasting in Ubeda as it did not interest me so wandered the delightful town instead. Also passed on the visit to the pig farm as I do not eat pork. More than half our group opted out of this so maybe it should be revisited as an attraction, perhaps replaced with a trip to the Gruta de La Maravillas caves instead, which I understand are fabulous. Another suggestion. As many people do not eat pork, and as it was the only meat option at most of the included dinners, perhaps meals with chicken could be substituted for pork in some of these included dinners. All in all, a trip to remember forever.
