This morning we drive to Loch Tay, one of the deepest lochs in Scotland. Ancient settlers once lived on Loch Tay and inhabited artificially created islands known as crannogs. We continue to Aberfeldy where we visit the distillery and see the Black Watch Monument. Later we return to Edinburgh where we enjoy a welcome dinner together. (D)

Today is devoted to Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital. We explore this fascinating city with its medieval and Georgian architecture and its imposing castle. Enjoy free time this afternoon before we meet up for the Edinburgh Tattoo, the highlight of our trip. The event has become a celebration of music and dance and attracts performers from all over the world. (B)

After a morning at leisure, we travel to the Falkirk Wheel, the world’s only rotating boat lift. Next we visit the magnificent ruins of Linlithgow Palace and discover the history of this royal palace. This evening we enjoy a final dinner together. (B, D)

Today we learn of the turbulent history, heritage and culture of the Scottish Borders. We explore this region known for its untouched natural beauty, picturesque villages, castles and abbey ruins before we return to Edinburgh where our tour ends. (B)
