Back-Roads Touring has been announced as the winner of Best Small Coach Holiday Company for the third consecutive year in the prestigious 2017 British Travel Awards.

The announcement was made on 29 November at a glamorous Gala Awards ceremony, held in London and attended by more than one thousand travel industry professionals, including representatives from all leisure travel genres and companies.

Back-Roads Touring has more than 25 years’ experience in small group and tailor-made tours across the UK and Europe.

Over the past twelve months Back-Roads tours visiting the UK remain the most popular destination for customers in the Australian and New Zealand market.

Back-Roads Touring Global General Manager Daryl Raven said they were are delighted to be recognised as winners in the British Travel Awards.

“We take a lot of pride in putting the customer at the heart of everything we do. The British Travel Awards validate the collective efforts of our team,” he said.

“We’ve spent a quarter of a century creating tours that cater to the mature traveller’s demand for authentic local experiences, culinary excellence and premium quality.
“This award is a testament to the uniqueness of our product offering in the marketplace and the passion behind its operation.”

With group sizes of up to 18 people, Back-Roads Touring’s passionate and knowledgeable guides can ensure a more personalised experience along with the time to give each stop the attention it deserves. Rather than simply dropping by top sights and major cities, Back- Roads’ tours invite travellers to see a destination through the eyes of the locals.

Traveling by luxury mini coaches, the tours are able to avoid the motorways and instead travel through the heart of each region at a relaxed pace. Each tour is run responsibly with sustainable tourism in mind, which has earned Back-Roads Touring a Silver level Green Tourism rating.

British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said Back-Roads Touring is to be congratulated on winning Best Small Coach Holiday Company.

“The British Travel Awards is the largest consumer voted awards programme in the world and this year 722,473 votes were cast by the travelling public to determine the winners and to win is truly an accolade and a badge of excellence,” she said.

“We occasionally get emails and calls from consumers who have not been happy with their holiday experience, and of course no-one can please all the people all of the time – BUT, the BTAs reflect the views of happy customers – and our standard is – “if you didn’t like it – don’t vote for it”.

“The results speak volumes.”

The British Travel Awards is a proudly independent organisation, verified by leading global business practitioners - Deloitte. The BTAs are the only travel industry accolade voted for exclusively by the consumer and the Awards serve to recognise all that is great about travel, as experienced by the travelling consumer.
